Hi there loyal followers! Today we thought a good feature on a rather talented photographer’s work surrounding the subjects of dogs would be a lovely change-up to our usual informative content. This is a bit of fun and as we are all about a range of creative accomplishments, photography has crept its way back onto our blogosphere. We are a massive fan of animals (especially dogs) and creative portraiture and this talented fellow combines the two. Therefore welcome to our photography feature of the week, introducing you to a new name in the field- Daniel Sadlowski famous for his Dog portraits!
His portfolio showcases a beautiful set of classy, crisp and high-resolution dog images, each displaying the canines in all their colossal glory. The subjects are represented in an idyllic, superior and worshipped light. What a tremendous (yet very tricky) way to capture a doggy moment! The photograph itself has a strong compositional focus on the animal’s profiles, particularly their sides. Some show the exceptional stance of a face-on shot, which we think is magnificent. The images pick up on the very fine details of the differing fur types and glosses, portraying each breed’s best attributes and distinctive features. They describe each dog breed perfectly and you can tell Sadlowski himself is a canine fan by how the camera handles the subjects. Even the editing is superb, concentrating on sharpening, soft colour gradients and a clever use of light and dark areas. Each subject even looks like they’re somewhat inanimate, the images are that perfect!
With a sharp finish, a slight desaturation and a soft, halo aura surrounding each dog, these images are spectacular. We could definitely imagine them blown up to a massive wall-scale size and showcased in a large esteemed portrait gallery of the arts. They behold huge impact, dynamism, levels and superiority. The backdrop colours also compliment each animal’s coat and key colour palettes, creating a picturesque holistic entity and a glossy glow. Great camera work Daniel!
The photographer himself is from Germany known for extraordinary photography and also some web design. His dog photos are his most unique work in our opinion, but in general he is exceedingly good at general portraiture and their unique, stylistic finishes. His ‘Hunde-portraits’ (taken from his website category label) are our favourites because they’re the most original- you try and entice a dog to sit and pose like he has and achieve a perfectly still and crisp photo!
